Below are the details of the materials we use and the thoughtful reasons behind each choice.
Lyocell vs Viscose:
Lyocell is the upgraded version of viscose, made from processing wood pulp using a non-toxic solvent called NMMO in a closed-loop system. A "closed-loop system" means that over 99% of it's processing solvents are reused and requires less water.
It uses a non-toxic organic solvent called NMMO to dissolve the wood. The system captures and recycles over 99% of this solvent and water, creating close to zero harmful waste.
While the Viscose production process uses harsh, toxic chemicals such as carbon disulfide, sodium hydroxide (caustic soda), and sulfuric acid, Lyocell is processed using NMMO, a non-toxic organic solvent.
